Insight into pharmacoepidemiology

22.05.2019 – In March 2018, Andrea Burden was appointed Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Pharmacoepidemiology by the ETH Board. Yesterday she gave her introduction lecture in the Audimax.

The researcher is investigating the efficacy of drugs in selected patient groups. Reliable and uniform data from hospitals and pharmacies is essential for her work. Burden analyses these data to find out which drugs have the greatest desired effect with the least side effects in certain diseases. Burden’s goal is to improve patient care.

The assistant professorship was created by the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at ETH Zurich in collaboration with the Clinic of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University Hospital Zurich. It was made possible with the support of the Swiss Association of Pharmacists pharmaSuisse.

A detailed portrait of Professor Andrea Burden was published on 5.11.2018 in the ETH News.
