13.09.2019 – From 8 to 13 September 2019, 200 bachelor’s and master’s students from ETH Zurich addressed the topic of “Rethinking Mobility” as part of ETH Week. The Avina and Dätwyler Foundations supported ETH Week 2019 as sponsors.
The students spent six days exploring various aspects of current and future forms of mobility. In interdisciplinary teams, they defined a relevant problem and developed an innovative solution. Talks and excursions gave insights into the wide-ranging topic. One of these was a trip to the canton of Uri – the students visited the NRLA site (the New Railway Link through the Alps) and talked to Cantonal Councillor Heidi Z’graggen and Communal President Urs Kälin about the challenges and effects of political decision-making for the transit canton.
ETH Week is a key project of the Critical Thinking initiative, which promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible action and gives students the opportunity to analyse and reflect important societal challenges.
