Let ETH Zurich pass on what is dear to you
Many people wish to leave a legacy. With a bequest or a legacy to ETH Zurich Foundation, you can commit yourself beyond your lifetime to the topics and values that are close to your heart beyond your lifetime. You can create both a memento of your life and a commitment for the future.
What a legacy achieves
The artificial heart of the future
The development of a reliable artificial heart would be a lifechanging breakthrough for millions of people. Thanks in part to the support provided by a bequest, ETH Zurich is working towards this goal.
Sun2ice: Protecting people and the environment
ETH Zurich is putting an inheritance from Dr Alfred Spälti toward developing solar-powered drones to observe glaciers. The aim is to be able to better predict rising sea levels in future.
What you can achieve
Dr Alfred Spälti
A passion for electrical engineering
As Technical Director at Landis+Gyr, Dr Alfred Spälti patented several of his own inventions. Thanks to a legacy, his support for research in science and technology at ETH Zurich continues to this day.
Dr Karl Tanner
A life devoted to painting and pioneering experimentation
Throughout his life, Karl Tanner was driven by two passions – painting and laboratory experimentation. His lifelong attachment to his alma mater culminated in a legacy to the ETH Zurich Foundation.
Dr Dorothée Wegmann
Chemist and dedicated proofreader
Dr Dorothée Wegmann – an ETH alumna and long serving employee – supported ETH Zurich’s Excellence Scholarship Programme during her lifetime. Underlining her profound attachment to her alma mater, she also named the ETH Zurich Foundation as the sole heir in her will.
Professor Alfred Büchel
A life dedicated to research and teaching
Alfred Büchel led a very secluded life in his final years. As requested in his will, the ETH Zurich Foundation will use his legacy to fund research and teaching at ETH Zurich.
